Gifts for him (and maybe even for her)

Doing a little shopping this weekend? Here are a few gift ideas for the men in your lives. By the way, those wallets are THE best. I gave Hillsy one many years ago and he's still using it (and no it doesn't have that you so need a new wallet look) and he just recently made a comment about it being the best wallet ever (tap tap). I also bought that bag (in green) for him recently as a work bag, it also served us well as the perfect carry-on bag on our last trip.

gifts for him (or maybe even for her)

1. cardigans
2. scarves
3. tshirt (love this, I want one for myself)
4. bag
5. book (Hillsy is a HUGE fan)
6. rubs
7. cookbook (maybe you'll get a nice homecooked meal in return)
8. wallet (black) (denim)

WANTED: PERSONAL STYLE

I've been trying to hone in on my personal style for as long as I can remember... I'll be turning 35 next year and one of my goals for next year is to get rid of all the excess that I've accumulated in my life. I'm starting with my closet and home (bigger goal - to keep it that way). I mean how many black long sleeve tops do I really need???

The styles above represent exactly the look I'm after!

Rabbits by MIKO DESIGN

How cute are these terry cloth rabbits by MIKO DESIGN?? Erika has the most unique textile products for babies, children and women - I love her fabric doll kits and screenprinted fabrics. You can also find her on etsy and on flickr.

Wardrobe (and body) in Transition

in transition...

I went on a little excursion last week to finally put an end to my "maternity clothes are too big and my normal clothes are too small and I'm sick and tired of wearing leggings and nursing tank tops" issue. Here are a few pieces that I chose from Anthropologie and Madewell (plaid top + striped top). The main theme here is comfort and easy! The Ella Moss top (top right) is my all-time fave (I've been wearing it almost everyday), it's the softest and most comfortable thing in the world - I'm tempted to buy it in other colors. Is it obvious that I tend to stay away from colors :)

I've been pairing everything with my Bensimon slip-ons.

Lady in Red

Taking a small break from baby/bump talk to discuss something just as important and unpredictable...
Red Lipstick!

lady in red

I've been searching high and low for a red that would not only work with my skin tone, but something that I would feel comfortable enough to actually wear outside of my house AND not feel like an impostor or a Robert Palmer video chick has-been. After spending what seemed to be hours at Sephora testing out all the reds from every line until my lips were stained and chapped from applying - wiping off - reapplying - wiping off (it was about as much fun as shopping for jeans while bloated and PMSing)... Melis found THE ONE (bless your soul). Of course with my luck, they didn't have anymore in stock, so I ended up ordering it online. Its got a little bit more of orange/pink in it and less blue (which didn't seem to agree with my yellow undertones).

I love you Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick #17.

Current Fave: Inset Lace Bikini

currentfave_bikini

Let's talk undies shall we?
Everyone (including books) recommends packing undies you don't care about in your overnight hospital bag. I get why, but unfortunately I've purged my drawers of these bad boys a while ago and replaced them with ones that I'd actually wear. For years I kept a drawer full of too small, worn elastic waist bands, what was I thinking types of undies that never saw the light of day. Not really sure why I kept them for so long?

I recently discovered the Super Soft Angels by Victoria's Secret line and purchased a whole bunch of them a couple of months ago. Little did I know that Puff Puss would be making a sudden appearance, making all thongs instantly redundant and completely out of the question (which unfortunately makes up about 90% of my stash). So what's a girl to do? I refuse to believe that Puff Puss is going be a permanent fixture around here so paying VS prices ($10 each if they're on sale) for a whole new set of larger-sized undies seems wasteful to me... Target to the rescue!

I found these NON-maternity bikinis that I absolutely love. They fit perfectly (I just had to buy M instead of S). The best part? They're only $5 each! Unfortunately I couldn't find them online so if you're interested, you'll have to go to your nearest Target. PS. They're cut low enough to accommodate a 9-month belly!

I love this

I've started following a brand new set of blogs and have begun eerily stalking a handful of new shops - mostly dedicated to little ones. Nonchalant Mom has become one of my ultimate faves, I'm quickly developing quite the laundry list of must-haves from Carina's shop...

Nonchalant Mom

Collector Pants. Love how you can turn these pants into a romper, the cutest thing ever!
Matta Metal Wraps. Versatile piece that can be used as a necklace, bracelet or a belt. One in every color please!

What's on my agenda this weekend? Gardening! Have a great weekend everyone!

Mommy Break

Alright. It's been baby stuff all week here and I think we all deserve a little break :)
mommy-time
I've made two shoe purchases this week...
1. I spotted these amazing Report Kimball flats on Melis this week and I just HAD to have them. Melis, promise I won't wear them at the same time!!

2. Not really sure why, but my converse sneaks are not very comfortable. I've never really understood why coz isn't that the point of wearing sneakers? Anyway, I'm hoping it'll be a different story with these Bensimon Elastique Tennis Flats (Gris Moyen).

I also bought a couple of maternity ribbed layering tanks from Old Navy (they're perfect and cheap) - got tired of my belly peeking out :) Love this burnout super-soft tank but they didn't have my size.

WANTED

I bought this dress from Target a week ago and I should've bought more of them coz I'm so in love with it - it's available in this color (sort of like a brownish/aubergine), black and white. I went back on Saturday and there were none left AND it's not online.

Friends & sisters, if you spot them at your local store give me a shout please!! Hook a girl up (this color <<---- thx Karen!!!! or black in XS), I'll pay you back! The dress has a built in second layer tank-dress inside so it's not see-through. Two pockets. Oh and it's got pintuck detailing at the bib. I believe they were $19.99$24.99.

Christmas Present

Hillsy gave me an Anthropolgie gift card for Christmas and I've been holding on to it for sooooo long, finally used it up for these lovelies (Don't Look Down Platforms/Frye)....

I'm officially in love with them (summer shoe #2). So THERE IS a difference between real leather and TARGET "leather". OH-MY-GOD the leather is buttery soft, like buttah baby.

PS. I admittedly have a shoe problem. This I know.

Imelda strikes again

I really should go down in the basement and count how many pairs of shoes I have that I've worn once... but that doesn't sound fun so instead I'll share my faves from Piperlime's 20% off today-only sale - promocode TREAT (sorry Raul!)

1. SeychellesAraxi
2. DV by Dolce VitaDainty
3. Mia Mystical (looks just like my favorite sandals from last year that I wore EVERYday that desperately need to be replaced)
4. Kenneth Cole Gem-erama
5. Ciao Bella Adriana

PS. Did I mention I ordered two pairs from Anthropologie (will share tomorrow) this weekend, but that doesn't count because I used a giftcard I received from Christmas - alright, so it didn't cover the entire balance... but the intentions were there.... give me a break people!

** OH almost forgot! A couple of links to help counter any shoe purchases that this post might have caused:

:: The lovely folks from Snuggle sent me an email offering readers $2 off their latest product Snuggle Creme
:: Coupon Cabin - a new online promo coupon hub (via dailycandy) $5 off Target what??

Deal of the Decade

I ordered these 2+ months ago, I seriously almost forgot about them. They finally arrived and I FREAKIN' LOVE them. So yes - they're Faux-Leather, but they look so so good, comfortable and $34.99 (+ free shipping) ... need I say more?

Unfortunately these Mossimo® Kinsey Boots were sold out last time I checked, but I'm hoping (for you guys) that they'll restock them soon! They're now in stock!!! hurry!!!
