Not in the mood

It's really from a mixture of things (a few family members driving me cuckoo) but mostly because I'm frustrated that I haven't gone into labor yet. Yes my patience is wearing thin but what I'm really worried about is going passed 40 weeks and having to be induced. I hate the need for disclaimers but having blogged long enough I know it's necessary to say that yes of course my baby's health is my top priority.

Let's see, what else can I vent about... My mother's well-intentioned hovering is slowly losing its novelty and I find myself running on a much shorter fuse this week (Ces, I get it). Who knew innocent joyful humming could be as irritating as nails on a chalkboard??! My senses are working overtime, I feel like THE FLY. I can even hear loud food chewing and slurping from a room away and my mind will focus on it until I can't take it anymore and I have to physically distance myself. I have a feeling I'm going to be a joy during labor, I better cut my nails as short as possible so I don't end up clawing Hillsy and my doula to death.

I'm not really in the mood to talk either so it's kind of convenient that I can't locate my cell phone. I have a feeling it's in the car but I'm in no rush to find it. I sorta just want to be alone right now, is that an unreasonable request? In short, I'm one crabby momma this week and I hope that it's a temporary state of mind... coz this is not good.

Of course this mood is temporary! Once you get that little baby in your arms, every frustration will fly out of the window!

I do hope you find some relief though - take a nice bubble bath or go on a solo hike. :)

Also, I would seriously consider doing some research on what's considered the "normal" length of gestation. Usually the first time mom will average 8 days over her "due date." So add a week on and THEN start thinking about induction if you have to. I've known women who, although physically miserable, have carried healthy babies up to a month past their "due date"!!! (Hopefully this won't happen to you though!)

Your body and senses are overwhelmed right now. I feel for you-- just take deep breaths.

Oh Biz...hang in there! This part is the hardest of all - maybe even worse than morning sickness. You're almost there and all of us mommas (and even those that aren't) can totally sympathize with what you are going through. Sending you lots of love and an ever so quiet, and not too nerve grating hug. xo Ez

Hugs to you my friend. This is a highly emotional time. The nerves, anticipation, excitement... go where you need to go to feel it and I hope it passes soon. I can't even imagine what you're going through as I've never had a baby. Take care of yourself.

girl i totally am with you on this! i am currently 41 weeks and 1 day. i have felt like i am always going to be pregnant! tonight we go in to be induced which wasn't my birth plan AT ALL and have had many breakdowns crying that my body has failed. i am doing okay now but this was def the hardest thing ever to deal with. i hope and pray you start labor naturally and that it is soon. :) ps i am pretty sure my phone is dead somewhere and i could care less ;)

So sorry my friend....I know the waiting is killing you & believe me when I say, this mood is totally temporary. You are on overload at the moment for sure and all will be well. Just take a deep breath, look at your bracelet & know everything will be okay. Let me know if you need anything, you know I will help in a heartbeat. Thinking of you...

It's a good sign. Neither of my babies arrived without me being ready to murder my entire family first. In our house, the phase is called 'angry pregnant woman'. It's not pretty, but I think it means the end is in sight. Now go and eat a whole pineapple.

I was exactly there with my last pregnancy, and i'm now 37 weeks and hoping to not have a repeat. The nice thing about being induced however, is that after all that time in the hospital, the delivery seems to go so quick!
Best of luck to you!!
