For our little Emma

I think most people hold off on sharing/announcing the baby's name until the baby is born. I guess I can understand why, but for us, we were pretty set on Emma early on and were happy to share her name with friends, family and pretty much anyone who asked if we've named her yet. Fortunately we haven't encountered any looks of disgust or unwanted reviews of the name... hope I haven't opened up the floodgates :)

I'm SO excited to share a sneak peek of Emma's room, I'm almost there...

Nursery Sneak Peek

Adorable Giant Dwarf stuffed bunny, a gift from Ez; Sophie the Giraffe, a gift from P; tiny garland I made ages ago; Butter Yellow pillow from UO; prints by Amy Blackwell; wall embroidery by Lisa of loulouandoscar; the cutest blue & white striped dress, a gift from Ez; "Emma" customized wall decal by Shanna Murray (another one from Ez!); little blue, white and red striped Fern Animal by Ashley Anna Brown, stuffed strawberries in a jam jar I made a couple of weeks ago,; the most beautiful custom Doe sculpture in the world by Nicole (a push gift to myself) framed by another one of Shanna Murray's beautifully illustrated decals.

(Moms, please don't be be alarmed. I'm aware that I'll have to remove most of the items in/around the crib for safety purposes)

PS. I dragged my butt to our local yoga center yesterday for my first day of pre-natal yoga, despite the gross weather (thanks to Hillsy who knew better and persuaded me to go). AND of course he was right - don't you just hate it when that happens?! I loooooved every single second of it and I didn't even mind the chanting all that much :) I've been doing DVDs at home/running instead of going to a gym since we moved from the city and I guess I've forgotten how much I actually enjoyed workout classes with REAL people! I may have to reconsider joining a gym after Emma is born!

Lastly, please come out and play Mr. Sun. All this grey is so not good for my never-ending TO DO list. I keep adding, nothing is getting crossed off and instead, the indentations on my bed and couch seem to be getting deeper, I've developed a refresh-every-30 second gmail/twitter/facebook/pinterest/flickr tick, researching eyelash extensions AND sending out emails like this...

"she is CARAZY, did she really think Dina was setting up a 5-man ambush at Chakra? Seriously? Danny and Johnny sitting out in their cars in the parking lot?? LOOney. :)"

If you have no idea what that refers to, believe me, you're better off!

Ooh, I know exactly what/who you are talking about. And I'm with you. She's a total nut job. As for Danny well there are no words. Actually, there are not words for that show period sometimes.

Beautiful nursery. Though I wouldn't expect any less from you. The palette is beautiful for a girl. And I love the name Emma. Classic and timeless.

P.S. I was looking through my Google Analytics yesterday and you'll never guess what one of the keywords was... "why did ez & marichelle close up shop?"... talk about random!

I love the name Emma so much! It's one of our top picks if we have a girl.

The nursery is GORGEOUS! Great work! I cannot wait to see photos of Emma at home in her gorgeous room!

Like you, we also knew what we were going to name our son, and told everyone as soon as we knew it was a boy! = ) I don't see why people have to be so secretive! LOL. Though, I respect other's decisions about it.

Hi! I love how you did your daughter's nursery! It's so beautiful, especially with the blue walls. What brand/color paint did you use?

I am planning on repainting my daughter's room a similar blue...so far she's had pale lilac and dusty pink walls. I am searching for something sweet but definitely less "girly"...your room is so inspiring it has sold me on using blue for a little girls room.

I came across your blog today via apartment therapy/ohdeedoh and admire that you are able to keep it up with a little bun in the oven! :-)

I love every single thing about this nursery...and am dying to see a picture of it in its entirety!! No pressure!!

Can you tell us the paint color and brand that you used...it looks like the perfect shade of blue!

So pretty! I love the paint color. What did you use?

Marichelle said...

Thank you so so much for all of your sweet comments!!! I'm having a blast decorating her bedroom! The paint color was actually suggested by my friend Ez - it's Glidden Evermore Premium (Satin finish) Stillness 70GG 63 Pure White Base from Home Depot!

Oops I forgot... Thanks Amanda! I actually bought the curtains from a local church rummage sale but they were originally from Pottery Barn Kids. Unfortunately I don't think they sell them anymore but you might be able to find something similar?

Oh my gosh I love the name Emma! She is one lucky little girl, that nursery is adorable. And I have the 30 second refresh tick too, but it is so gloomy here in England I can't get off my butt!

Wow how amazing this little space is. (I just found you via Kenzipoo, so I'm guessing you haven't had your little sweetie yet)

The name game is crazy huh....well, Emma is just the sweetest thing. We named our little man Wolfgang (aka Wolfie) which, as you can imagine, was controversial. But he has a big head of blonde ringlets and big ol eyes and is spunky and sassy and SUCH a Wolfie! (as an aside, I have dark hair and eyes, so the blondie thing threw me for a loop! haha).

This room has an amazing feel—i'm esp loving the stuffed animal deer head. GENIUS.

And ahem.....Dina.....you must be talkin' Jersey. I have them taped, I couldn't start until RHWNY was over! (do you watch that? the THREE PART reunion?? Bananas!!)

Thanks for sharing so glad I found your space. I have a children's style/design/vintage blog over at modernkiddo.com—stop by and say howdy!

And ding ding ding, RHWNJ it is and YES the reunion for RHWNY was indeed bananas and can't wait for part II. Thanks Jen, I figured I'd stay away from pink while I still can :)
