Our First...

Everyone we've met so far in our new town have been unbelievably nice, including our Realtor Barbara Lawrence (blog). If anyone is ever looking to buy a home in Maplewood, South Orange, West Orange, Montclair, Millburn, Short Hills or Glen Ridge Barbara is the woman! She was the best! Precise, never pushy and so so helpful. She made the buying process easy as pie - we were actually surprised at how easy it was at the end. Actually I can't say that without mentioning Erdine Skelton, our mortgage consultant from Wells Fargo. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm allergic to numbers and finances and Erdine was a godsend. Mortgage process - again, quick and absolutely painless. Let me know if you need contact info!

Barbara even set-up this nice dinner that was delivered on one of our first nights at the house.

Corn chowder, roasted turkey breast, squash, apple stuffing, braised brisket, apple strudel and a bottle of red wine! Oh and Erdine gave us a really nice bottle of bubbly to say congratulations!!

Here's a couple of shots of Jonathan's first mowing expedition.

We've been so embarrassed about our front yard- we were THAT house on the block. You know, the one that all the neighbors look at and say "when are they going to cut their grass" - well maybe not, since everyone is so nice!

Anyway, the lawnmower finally arrived from Amazon and Hillsy took it for a ride on Sunday. The grass was slightly damp so he was having issues at first, but after a couple of hours we no longer had the embarrassing lawn. Well actually, I still need to prune the overgrown bushes and trees, but for now we're good!
