If it's good running store...they should take the shoes back, even after use...if they are hurting your feet. Go to a real running store or just the running store sites on the cuzns blog. They'll sell you the right shoe, not the one that'll earn them more commission & you can return if you don't like 'em. justgen
Bummer! I just read an interesting article (actually I read a summary, but here is the original article: http://nymag.com/health/features/46213/ ) about how going barefoot is healthier for your feet.
People who run in cheap shoes have far less injuries than those who wear pricey shoes. I don't know if barefoot running in New York is a good idea for you, but this is food for thought!
I feel your pain ... just when I was getting in a good running groove last summer, I ended up in an air cast with a fractured leg! Now its the elliptical for me ... not nearly as fun as running outside, but it'll have to do. Here's to hoping you are back running soon!!
susie: Thank you thank you! That is interesting and will definitely read that before bed! But you are right... not sure barefoot + city go together - you should see my feet after walking around in flip flops all day.... gross!
yvonne: aww thank you! It just sucks! I'm so bummed about the whole thing. I'm hoping that laying off it for a week will help... (fingers crossed!) Thanks for your wishes!
