Weekend Wrap-up: Sunday School launches

Oh how I still hate Mondays.

Another great weekend - I'm so happy that summer is still lingering around here in NY. It has definitely cooled down a little but overall I can't complain (just yet).

Friday was pretty uneventful - I was still recovering from being under the weather but I finally finished my tote bag.

The bag is a little flimsy but definitely not bad for my first bag. I added inside pockets for everything that tends to get lost in the big-bag abyss. I'm definitely going to give it another shot and use a heavier fabric to give it more structure.

I also attempted to bake chocolate chip cookies... not sure where I went wrong!

Saturday started off the same way as always but instead of the usual bread basket, we finally tried the brunch at Balthazar. It was surprisingly underwhelming - I'll let our resident critic get into that one shortly.

I finally got a chance to check out Purl Patchwork, it's such an amazing store - all 300sq' of it. They carry the cutest prints and the staff was super friendly and very helpful. I managed to stop myself at $70 but you can easily do some major damage in here. It's a little pricier than City Quilter but the fabric selection is far more superior- I wanted a yard of everything in the store.

Sunday

A big thanks to Z for hosting our first ever "Sunday School". All of the pincushions came out so cute. See for yourself...

Our goal is to meet up for at least once a month and try out different projects. It's a really great way to learn something new and spend time with the girls. Thanks to everyone for coming (it was sort of a Sunday School launch as well as a birthday thing) I had a great time!!

I also want to say thanks to Z and Amanda for dinner, although we stuffed our faces all day with nachos, Spanish omelette, stuffed mushrooms, cupcakes and a beautiful mocha cake (thanks Amanda!) we still decided to grab dinner at Spice. FYI - both the Crispy Tilapia in Tamarind sauce and Curry Puffs are winners.

I hope this week is a lot better than last (please no more migraines)! I have lots of new craft projects in mind - ideas have been brewing... I just hope they all make it out of my head.
