I've been waiting all summer long for Kelli to open her bakery and last week she made the announcement on her blog...

The new Amai Tea and Bake House opened today and it was at the very top of my to do list. I don't remember how I discovered Kelli and her wonderful treats but I guess it doesn't really matter - she's responsible for introducing me to the wonderful world of "tea cookies". Not only are they the perfect complement to a cup of tea, but unlike traditional shortbread - Amai cookies are actually made out of tea. Green Tea, Earl Grey & Currant, Lemongrass & Ginger, Chai Almond and White Tea & Strawberry are some of the flavors you'll find at the shop. I love them because they have just the right amount of sweetness and "flavor" - just like a perfect cuppa tea.

So I stopped by to introduce myself and to pick up a couple of yummy treats. I was so excited to be there that I completely forgot to take pictures of the space. She has pictures of the shop up on her blog Lovescool, definitely check it out if you're interested in reading more about her and her amazing story.

So if you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by and pick up a few treats!

A little mid-morning snack. My personal favorite is the Chai Almond one, I can eat dozens of this stuff! I could eat the entire plate of goodies, but I'm going to be nice and save some for you know who.
