Merry Weekend + a little whining

bananabread

Hope you all had a great weekend! We had a busy weekend of hosting and I'm pooped! I feel like the biggest baby in the world right now but my body is officially shuttin' down. The aches and pains are getting to be a bit much and I find myself constantly bitching and whining about back and foot pains, poor Hillsy has been on masseuse duty all-weekend long. We headed into the city on Friday to meet up with an out-of-town friend for lunch... four hours later we were home, I've never been so happy to be home in my life. I'm not sure if it was the walking or crowded Penn Station or what but the trip just sucked the life out of me. It sounds so silly as I'm typing this out, so melodramatic but I swear it's as if my body is raising a white flag and telling me to stop. So, I've banned going into the city or anything that requires hours of walking or continuous sitting - fun fun times ahead. 8 weeks 4 days and counting...

By the way, I had a couple of bananas on their way out and decided to bake a loaf of banana bread using this recipe. Came out pretty good except I only had two bananas and I'm sure if I had at least one more it would've been perfect!

I'm pooped and I did nothing all weekend. Nor am I pregnant. Pathetic. Me... not you. Ha!

Good girl...you listen to your body Midge. Little Emma will thank you for it by arriving on schedule (and not early).
BTW, you know my feeling about bananas, but oh yum...that bread looks too amazing. I'm craving a slice now!

I'm so happy to hear it's universal. I'm 31 weeks and can feel my energy depleting by the day. While I have big plans every weekend, the only thing I seem to be able to do is hibernate.

Thanks Adele, you're so sweet and always say the right things!! Ez, sending a virtual slice over to you right now :) Annie, thank you for leaving your comment, I feel so much better now - knowing that I'm not alone. I hope we both feel better soon!!! BTW, the food on your blog looks amazing, empanadas, suckling pig? Yummm!

You are doing exactly the right thing hun, and no need to feel guilty about a thing. Remember you are climbing mount everest every day(even though it doesn't look that way from the outside) rest, relax and take advantage of being able to do exactly what your body needs right now. You are amazing and you are almost there! I am so excited and so proud of you!
Oh, and you are entitled to tons of whining...it is expected of pregger ladies! :)

Thanks Melis, that definitely makes me feel better! You know me, I always feel guilty and useless when it comes to bumming around :)
