Just Got Married!

un_mariage

We did it!!! And exactly the way WE wanted to. We hardly told a soul...

Wednesday afternoon I headed down to Whole Foods to pick up a few filler-flowers, cut a few roses and peonies from our garden for my bouquet.

Thursday, May 27, 2010
6:00am: Woke up and immediately started working on the bouquet.
8:00: Shower, ironed an old cream-colored dress (first dress Hillsy ever bought me) and Hillsy's suit. Added a few curls to my hair using a curling iron - which by the way took me the longest time. I must've pressed the off button half-way through, no wonder nothing was happening! Surprisingly the only thing that came even close to being stressful :)
9:00: Photoshoot of course (dress, flowers, ring)!
10:20: Drove down to the train station. Gave it plenty of time just in case we couldn't find parking. As luck would have it, there was a spot waiting for us right in the lot. First sign that it was a perfect day to get married :)
11:30: Arrived at Penn Station and hailed a cab.
12:00pm: Arrived at the city clerk's office downtown. Met up with my bestest friend in the world Z and Hillsy's sidekick Kayhan (our witnesses for the day! oh and of course baby Max - Z's super cute 3 month old baby and my godson)
12:30: Do you Marichelle take...12:34: You may now kiss the bride...
1:30: Nice long relaxing lunch at Blue Smoke for some yummy Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Ribs! We're proud porkytarians!
5:17: On the train back to Maplewood as husband and wife!

We ended the day with some yummy Red Velvet and Apple Pie cuppies courtesy of Z. It was the best wedding day ever!! This really has been such an exciting year for us, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Now we're off to a mini mini honeymoon... I'll tell you all about it next week!!! Have a great weekend everybody!!

PS. Off to make a few phone calls/emails to share the news (really hope our friends and family aren't offended)...

If I ever do get married, that's how I want it to go down! Congratulations!! I've been through the planning the big wedding before and it didn't happen...groom...cold feet... But I don't want all that stress the next time around. This sounds absolutely perfect!
