Filipino Sweet Meat

... that's a Hillsy term, which comes from....

A. Filipinos love their sweet meat. E.g., traditional BBQ, Tocino (cured meat), Longanisa (sausage) - all sweet!

B. Mosquitos freakin' LOOOOOOVE me. I'm flattered. Really I am, but please microvamps, enough is enough! We'd be sitting outside in the yard and for some reason, I'm the only one who gets eaten up alive. His excuse? Filipino sweet meat!

He's been on the mosquito case for a while now, looking for the best solution. Last year, we couldn't even sit outside nor open the back door - they'd come flying in and I'd get eaten up while sitting on the couch. It was ridiculous.

I'm happy to report that he's found what seems to be the best (affordable) space and personal repellent available in the market. OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and Lantern and the OFF!® Clip-On™

I love my little fan, I've been wearing it (easily clips on to waist or pockets) while gardening and watering plants and so far so good. It'll be coming along with me to every BBQ we get invited to this year! The jury is still out - I'm a tiny bit weary since the mosquitos are not out in full force yet, but I shall try to remain hopeful...

Hey, Marichelle, from one Filipino sweet meat to another: Try essential oil of lavender. Just put it on your pulse points like you would perfume. Or anywhere on your skin really. Works for me! (But make sure it's the oil of real lavender and not the poor-cousin variant "lavandin" that you're getting. Lavandin is no good.)

Down with lamok!

i just saw the commercial for the clip lastnight & thought "noooo - that'd never keep away the Maine mosquitos". but if it works for you i'll be buying one immediately.

I've got the same problem. I'm like the repellent for everyone around me! Mosquitos will go for me instead of those around me.
What works for me is Avon Skin So Soft creme. It's the best creme repellent plus it does make your skin oh so soft!

Hi Issey! that's so funny, I've heard about that like forever, but still haven't had a chance to try it!
Kimmie, hah! you mean you're not down with the bright sports blue revolving fan on my belt buckle look? C'mon all the girls on the runway are doing it for Spring 2010.
