New House (sorta)

Our house before removing the vinyl siding + paintjob

Checking in to show you why it's been such a ghost town around here lately :)
We've been getting some work done to our home and I've also been super lazy about blogging (I guess I just needed a little time off).

Admittedly not the most exciting change, but we replaced our fence! It was literally caving into our neighbor's property (all three neighbors), so it had to be done. We used Carmine's Landscaping and Matt was awesome. But...

THE most exciting project was removing the vinyl siding off our house. Wooohoooo. I'm not gonna lie, I've been dreaming about this since the day we moved in. I CANNOT BELIEVE WE ACTUALLY DID IT!!! The original clapboards are back!!

Vinyl siding removed
Siding removal took around 2-3 days.

wood repairs
Repairing the damaged wood underneath - also around 3 days.

naked
Sanding the house and garage down to bare wood took about 3 (very loud) days and priming/painting another 3 days.

The crew was fantastic. If you're in the Maplewood area and looking to paint your home, we highly recommend Rutgers Painting (Leonel's crew). As for the woodwork/repairs, we used Tico's Carpentry. Also very happy with their work (Gorge's crew).

slate grey + charcoal grey shutters + bright white trim + yellow door (of course)

Newly painted!

AND of course what's a post without a pic of the little snoopy snoop??
