Banana Cream Pudding: Theirs v. Theirs

I had to take care of some "woman-duties" yesterday. Ladies, if you're in the area - Eve Salon in the West Village is excellent (Maya is the best). Anyway, I have a little ritual of treating myself to a Magnolia cupcake afterwards - it's right across the street. This time, I made it a point to order a small cup of the Banana Cream Pie that I've been making all month long.



A couple of minor differences, but it tastes exactly the same - well duh, it is their recipe after all!! I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I'm so used to recipes that claim to be THE recipe for a signature item/dish - then you try it at home and it never really taste as good as the real thing. Well, certainly not this time!!!
