Seattle

Hillsy and I went on a little family trip last week to Seattle Washington. As expected the weather was a bit shitty (rainy + 40s). It rained almost everyday... kinda reminds me of Florida, but instead of sporadic rain showers you get sporadic sun rays in between the shower mist that never seems to cease.

I ate like a pig all week-long. The seafood was AMAZING and the doughnuts from Daily Dozen at Pike Place Market did not disappoint. The Red Curry Coconut Broth Entree at Etta's was a definite fave. I wish I could've tried the raw oysters but stayed strong for the little one! The sushi at Red Fin (Max Hotel) looked really good (Hillsy had it) but my Fuji Apple Crab Roll kept me pretty happy. Matt's in the Market was another good choice, it's a nice and cozy restaurant right in the heart of the Pike Place Market. Oh and we also had the best clam chowder at Ivar's - a tourist hot spot on the water, with an awesome view of West Seattle.

We stayed at Olive 8 (downtown/denny triangle) and loved it. The staff was out of this world and super friendly. We'd definitely stay there again (although I guess the free upgrade to the governor suite didn't hurt!!!) The downtown area was a breeze to navigate - totally walkable and not as nearly congested as NYC. Overall it was a great trip but I was definitely happy to be home where the sun is out, the birds are chirping, everything is in bloom AND getting up to the 80s this week!!

I've always wanted to go to Seattle. I hope that when I get to go, I'll eat food that looks as delicious as the food you ate! Yum.

Ahh I love Seattle! I am from there, but have lived in San Francisco for 8 years now. I'm excited to head up there with a few friends in June to show off what a great city it is. I'm keeping a list of places we must go so your suggestions are much appreciated!
