Tick Tock Tick Tock

Waiting is the hardest part.
Two more weeks until our next ultrasound, when we find out whether the seedlebug is a boy or a girl!! We've decided that once we know, we'll go ahead and actually start purchasing a few items for the baby and the nursery. I guess there's never really a right time to start doing that sort of thing, you'll always feel like you're jinxing it all by preparing in advance. I'm sure most mommies-to-be can't help but think of the what-ifs. Everyone has a friend or cousin's friend's daughter of a friend who has a horror story or two about things not working out as planned. I try really hard to lock up those thoughts in a far away pocket in my brain, but I can't lie, it's something that's always in the back of my head, especially when I'm walking around H&M Baby swooning over the cutest grey striped onesie and think "no, too soon."

There's never going to be a right time, unless you have the patience of a Desert Tortoise and hold off on doing anything until the baby is born. THAT would not be me. I'm just hoping for the best and trying hard to suppress those what-ifs. I finally started putting together a wishpot list for the baby which I've been holding off on doing for the longest time. And who knows, maybe I'll finally start clearing out my craft supplies out of the soon-to-be nursery room this weekend.

On a lighter note... really America? Not only are you killing me with our devastatingly awful health insurance (AETNA claims that my last ultrasound was not medically necessary, when did testing for down syndrome become an elective???) and now Alex Lambert and Lilly Scott? Two of my idol favorites gone :(

PS. Just wanted to say congratulations to my very good friends Zandra and Ryan. My baby's future BFF was born early Thursday morning. He's just the cutest bundle!!!!
